Bu kateterden epidural aral\u0131\u011fa anestezi ilac\u0131 verilir. Kateter ihtiya\u00e7 halinde daha sonra ila\u00e7 verilebilmesi i\u00e7in bu aral\u0131kta b\u0131rak\u0131l\u0131r. A\u011fr\u0131s\u0131z normal do\u011fum sonras\u0131nda bu kateter \u00e7ekilir. Sezaryen do\u011fumlarda ise bir g\u00fcn kal\u0131r. A\u011fr\u0131s\u0131z normal do\u011fum i\u00e7in kullan\u0131lan anestezi miktar\u0131 sezaryen do\u011fuma g\u00f6re daha azd\u0131r.
